The Healthy Families Centre, located at the Peterborough Public Library in Peterborough, Ontario, is a joint initiative of Kinark Child and Family Services and the Peterborough Public Library.
The Healthy Families Centre includes the Healthy Families Collection and Healthy Families Events.

Healthy Families Events
Information sessions on various parenting and children's mental health themes are presented by the Healthy Families Centre Community Partners at the Peterborough Public Library and other locations on an ongoing basis. For more information about the Healthy Families Events call 705-742-3803.

"Social Skills for Children and Youth with Special Needs," with Shelley Lamain and Michelle Montague, ASD Consultants. Join us on Tuesday, April 2 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. in the Library Auditorium for this free event. Everyone is welcome, and light refreshments are provided.
- "Understanding Mood Problems in Children and Adolescents: from Mood Swings to Depression and Bipolar Disorder," with Dr. Kevin Nugent, Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist. Join us on Tuesday, May 7 from 7:00 p.m. to 9: 00 p.m. in the Library Auditorium for this free event. Everyone is welcome, and light refreshments are provided.

Two workshops on Electronic Handheld Devices are being offered in February. One will be held in Peterborough on Wednesday, February 27 (See the POSTER for full details), and the other will be held in Northumberland on Wednesday, February 6 (see the POSTER for full details).
Bring your devices and learn how many of the built in accessibility features in tables, and smart phones can support a range of learning tasks in reading, writing and mathematics, including a quick overview of applications can be installed to provide an even greater range of possibilities.
