Book Donations

Donations of books, magazines and audio-visual materials are welcomed at the library and are used by the Friends of the Library to raise funds to purchase new materials and equipment and to sponsor programs. Donations may be brought into the library at the front entrance or at the back during business hours. Donors may call 745-5382 for details.

All items are welcome with the exception of the following:

  • General Encyclopedias (e.g. World Book) – especially if they are older than 5 years.
  • Government publications
  • Audio books with missing CDs or cassettes
  • Books with loose pages, musty or moldy and in general poor condition
  • Pamphlets
  • Weekly magazines (e.g. Time, Macleans)
  • Reader’s Digest Condensed Books
  • Books (including textbooks) older than 5 years on time sensitive subjects (e.g. health, science, law, finance, computers)
