Holds

To request that an item be placed on hold, you must have a valid library card. Most items can be placed on hold with some exceptions.

Place a Request:
  • In person at either location (library card number required).
  • Using the Online Catalogue at either location (library card number and P.I.N. required).
  • By accessing your library account from any computer with Internet access (library account number and P.I.N. required).
  • By telephone at 705-745-5382 ext. 2340 or 2350 during regular library hours (library card number required).

Once an item you have requested becomes available, you will be contacted by phone, email or mail. If you have not picked up the item within seven days it will be passed on to the next person on the hold list.

If for some reason you will be unable to pick up your holds, they may be suspended under your account information. Simply select the hold you wish to suspend and choose the dates for which you will be unavailable. This will change the status to suspended. The suspended status will allow your hold to continue moving up the holds queue, but will "skip" your name if it reaches the top of the list. You may make these status changes yourself online, or ask for assistance from either the Circulation or Information staff.
