Library News

The following is the most recent library column published in the Peterborough Examiner. Links to previous columns are listed below.

The Peterborough Examiner – Library Column, March 2010

NewspapersThe Library is calling out to Peterborough teens. What books do you read? What music do you listen to? What movies do you want to see? What programs would you like available to you and your friends? Would you be interested in working with the Library to develop teen programs and collections?

We have created a short survey, and are asking teens to fill it out either online (http://www.peterborough.library.on.ca/Teens/Teen_Survey.htm) or in person at the Adult Information Desk. The more responses we receive the better able we will be to serve your needs.

Are books crowding your bookshelves? Are they piling up in your basement? The Friends of the Library need donations of good quality books, which can be dropped off in the Library or at the book drop.

Please be advised that the Main Library and DelaFosse Branch will be closed from Thursday, April 2 to Monday, April 5 for the Easter Weekend. Both libraries will reopen on Tuesday, Apil 6.

Teen Programs
What would happen f an asteroid hit the moon with enough force to move the moon closer to the Earth? Susan B. Pfeffer's book, Life as we knew it, illustrates the severe after effects of such an event and shows how a particular family works through them. This is one hte the many great books selected for the Pizza & Pages Teen Book Club which any teen is welcome to join. The club will meet on Wednesday, March 24 at 6:30 p.m. in the Library Boardroom to chat about Pfeffer's book while enjoying some pizza.
