- Ontario Genealogical Society – Kawartha Branch
The Kawartha Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society houses their collection at the Delafosse Branch of the Peterborough Public Library. They are open Tuesdays 2:30-7:30; Thursdays 2:30-7:30; and Saturdays 10:00-3:00 (all by appointment only). - Kawartha Ancestral Research Association
KARA specializes in family history related and local area historical information for the counties of Peterborough, Haliburton, Northumberland and the City of Kawartha Lakes (formerly Victoria County). The KARA Research Centre Library houses a growing collection of resources for family history research.
- Trent Valley Archives
The Trent Valley Archives holds a collection relating to local history, family research, genealogy and archives. Notable holdings include Peterborough County land records, 1867-1950; parish records for the Peterborough Diocese and St. John’s Anglican (Peterborough); Peterborough Examiner Archives (1847-2008), and fire insurance maps for Peterborough for 1882, 1889, 1911, 1915, 1929.
- Peterborough Historical Society
The Peterborough Historical Society has a paid membership that holds public meetings featuring guest speakers presenting interesting historical topics on the third Tuesday of eight months of the year. The Society owns and operates Hutchison House, a living history museum that provides educational tours and events about the mid 1800s period.
