
The Peterborough Public Library Board is established under the Public Libraries Act, R.S.O., 1990, Chapter P.44 as amended. An applicant for the Library Board must be 18 years of age, a Canadian Citizen and a Peterborough resident. Trustees sit for a four-year term concurrent with City Council and may be reappointed.

The Library Board usually meets on the fourth Tuesday of each month (except July and August) at 7:00 p.m. in the Library Boardroom. Meetings are open to the public. Members of the public wishing to make a deputation to the board are asked to contact the Library CEO at least 10 days in advance of the meeting. The tentative schedule for meetings in 2013 is as follows:
