Accessibility

The Peterborough Public Library works hard to be accessible to everyone, and provides access to materials in accessible formats where they exist.  Not only do we provide home delivery services to residents who are unable to come to the library (our Visiting Library Service), we have many in-house features and equipment, including:

Stand-Alone Equipment

CCTV

  • CCTV – for viewing documents and books with magnification or alternate colours
  • Portable magnifier – handheld and electronic, for magnifying text or reading the spine labels while searching the shelves
  • Personal sound amplifier – for the hard of hearing
  • Daisy readers – for listening to books and newspapers on Daisy-formatted CDs (available from the CNIB)
  • Daisy MP3 reader – for listening to any Daisy-formatted audio (available from the CNIB)
  • Front Row To GO Sound field System (Available to room renters)
